Spring Term - Residential Unit

Spring Term - Residential Unit

The Spring term has seen some fantastic achievements from our Resi students, with both teaching staff and parents reporting good progress at school and home..

With the first signs of spring finally beginning show the Resi unit has begun once more to enjoy some outside activities. However the long cold and unusually wet winter did not hinder us to much here in Resi. We’ve provided some excellent opportunities and activities many of which have been run in conjunction with organisations from the local community such as Youth Direction. Monday nights has seen us access Go Climb at Billingham Forum which has given us the chance to learn climbing skills and test our stamina.

We’ve also attended weekly session at Thornaby Pavilion were we’ve been involved in sports sessions, these off-stie activities are a great way to meet new people and get fit at the same time.

Along with the activities ran within the residential unit the Spring term has been a fun packed, learning extravaganza! It was so good that on March 1st OFSTED came to spend some time with us, when their  report is available we will update you on the outcomes.

The Residential team would like to thank all the students and parents for their support and participation and all the staff from across Horizons Trust for their outstanding support.

If you’re interested in learning a little more about the residential unit and the activities or support available you can visit our website or in person if you prefer by speaking to your  Principal  tutors, or  the Resi team.

Our web page has been updated with photos of our Spring term activities to view go to

Enjoy  Easter
