MacMillan coffee morning a huge success!
30th September 2015
Abbey Hill Academy held its annual coffee morning for the MacMillan Cancer support charity on Friday 25th September.
Suzanne Florence who organised the event noted that the buzz around the Stephenson Building Hall was fantastic. “It was so lovely to see many parents & carers in school having a drink, a chat with their son/daughter and all the students & staff who popped down or over”. We raised £475.00 for this very worthy cause.
The cake stall was a particular success raising £113.80, that’s a lot of cakes! Congratulations to Emma Walton who had the winning hamper ticket (310). In total the raffle raised £275.00!
This wouldn't have been possible without all your help, support & generosity. Everybody in Abbey Hill Academy, parents & carers helped to make this fantastic amount! All the money raised goes towards supporting people fighting this illness.
Everybody at Abbey Hill Academy is proud to support this worthy cause
Staff were involved in the running of stalls & the clearing away at the end but a special mention goes to the 8AG tutor group for all their help throughout the morning.
Thank you for your continued help and support with events and we look forward to welcoming you all into school at our next event.
