HSAT “outperforms” in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Honours List!

13th June 2016

Like schools up and down the country, the Trust’s academies and their staff and students have been involved in a range of activities celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday. Now we have even more reasons to celebrate!

  • Elizabeth Horne, Chief Executive, was made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for services to Education; and
  • Mrs Fred Griffin, Head of Residential Care at Westlands, was made a MBE (Member of the British Empire) for her work over the years with children and families in the Trust’s Ofsted-rated Outstanding residential provision.

Both have said they are humbled and overwhelmed by their awards and are very aware of the professionalism and commitment of their colleagues – seeing their awards as much as for staff and students as for them. And both are already planning their outfits for when they go to Buckingham Palace for their investitures!

We wish them well and look forward to seeing the official photographs in due course.
