HSAT does it again!
7th May 2015
Following two successful bids to the Education Funding Agency’s (EFA) capital fund last year, totalling £1.3 million, which enabled a complete redesign and refurbishment of one half of Westlands Academy and also changing two redundant spaces at Green Gates into an outdoor garden and a room for children and their parents/carers to meet with support professionals, Directors and Staff are delighted that for a second year running the Trust has been successful again!
This year HSAT has been awarded two bids from EFA's 'Condition Improvement Fund', totalling approximately £370,000 – the first for a much needed new roof at Green Gates. The leaking roof has caused many issues and pupils and staff will benefit tremendously from a water-tight school. Secondly, at Abbey Hill Academy the current garage is being developed into a dining area / bistro. This will firstly provide additional space during lunchtime for our older 11-16 students and secondly, exciting learning and enterprise opportunities in catering.
Elizabeth Horne, Chief Executive of HSAT, has expressed her delight at the successful bids, which will further enhance the condition of the Trust's buildings and also provide additional facilities for pupils and students.
