Enterprise Week 2015

16th December 2015

On Thursday 3rd December 2015, Abbey Hill Academy held its Enterprise Christmas Trade Fair. The event was a huge success and was thoroughly enjoyed by students, staff and visitors.

The event was the finale to a tutor group challenge that ran throughout the week. The students were set the challenge in their tutor groups of making as much profit as possible from £30. The students had to submit a business plan with their ideas, projected profits and costs.

There was a fantastic response to the challenge with some excellent enterprising ideas including events such as games, raffles and Santa’s Grotto. A large selection of quality products were made such as Christmas decorations, festive foods, gifts and cards.

The Enterprise Christmas Trade Fair was well attended and business was brisk! The whole afternoon was a magical and creatively chaotic event!

We invited our judges Elizabeth Kipling-Vasey, Alison Dobson, Caroline Thomas and Jacqui Brown to attend the event. It was their job to decide on the winning groups for the categories; Best Business Plan, Best Enterprising Idea, Best Stall/Stand and Most Profit Earned. The winners received certificates and tuck shop vouchers.

Each tutor had to decide on their most enterprising student, these students received individual certificates and prizes.
