Tremendous reading achievement by two Year 10 students
Congratulations to Dylan Walker (10AG) and Alex Matthews (6AP) who have completed the eighteen stages of the Lexia, which is a reading programme that develops student’s reading and comprehension. The boys were rewarded with £10 of high street vouchers to spend and now they have enrolled on the higher level of lexia – lexia strategies to continue to develop their reading skills.
Independent reading group visit Tesco
The independent reading group are reading the novel Tins, which is about a boy who collects tins without labels. This prompted us to visit Tesco to buy a tin each. We are going to remove the labels and then every Friday we are going to open a tin and eat the contents to experience the excitement that Fergus in the book feels. Watch out for the photos.
6AP in the bistro trying oxo and crackers.
6AP are studying adventures, for their Step Up to English qualification. We have studied Scott of the Antarctic and discovered that the adventurers took crackers and oxo to eat. As you can see the students enjoyed their adventurer food.
