An Amazing Coffee Morning!
12th February 2016
This morning, staff and students at Westlands Academy held a coffee morning to raise funds for a defibrillator at Christ the King Primary School. News came to the staff at Westlands that one of the students at the Thornaby primary school would benefit from a defibrillator and they immediately sprung into action.
A coffee morning was planned with the added extras of a cake sale and a tombola . Prizes were donated by the staff and other members of the community whilst staff and students furiously whisked, mixed and baked to create a huge range of edible goodies.
Students invited their parents to attend - and they proved to be incredibly generous! Numerous cakes and pies where bought and washed down with hundreds of cups of tea and coffee. Thanks to the generosity of the everyone that attended we were able to raise over £365 for the fund. The money will be passed on to the school this afternoon. Well done!
