Abbey Hill students show sparkling enterprise skills at Christmas market.

Abbey Hill students show sparkling enterprise skills at Christmas market.

On Friday 28th November 2014, 11AG from Abbey Hill Academy attended the Stockton Sparkles Market to sell Enterprise products made by the students of Abbey Hill.

We all had to wrap up warm and take our box loads of products on the minibus to Stockton town centre. We arrived at 9.45am and set up in the high street between the German Christmas wooden huts. We had three tables full of lovely Christmas products to sell, all made by the students at Abbey Hill.

The markets were really busy and the students took it in turns to serve customers, take money and give change, bag products for customers and even approach the public to sell chances to win on a game. We sold up until 2.30 before returning to school. It was a fantastic, real life experience for our students.

The students from 11AG were a credit to Abbey Hill, very polite, hard-working and sensible throughout the event. £195.00 was taken on the day and most of the stock was sold. This was a very successful event and wonderful experience for our students. We would like to say a special thank you to Stockton Borough Council for allowing us to sell at the Sparkles Market and all of the parents and friends of our school that we saw on the day.
